MARY OLDMAN'S (nee STERNE) WILL 1820


Mary Oldman widow - 228 Mac, Norfolk Records Office.

This is the last will and testament of me, Mary Oldman, of the Borough of Thetford in the County of Norfolk.

First I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my son William Oldman executor of this my will.

Item I do hereby give and bequeath to my daughter Mary the wife of John Winterbourne of Thetford aforesaid the sum of Forty Pounds and also my bureau.

Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Jane the wife of John King the sum of Forty Pounds and also a round table and great chair.

Item I give and bequeath to my grandson Joseph Garner the younger of Tuddenham in the County of Suffolk, Miller, the sum of nineteen guineas, all of which legacies I direct shall be paid within six months next after my decease.

Item I give and bequeath to my said daughters Mary the wife of John Winterbourne and Jane, the wife of John King, all and every my wearing apparel to be equally divided between them, share and share alike.

Item I give and bequeath to my said son, William Oldman and to my said daughters Mary and Jane, all and every my bed linen to be equally divided between them, share and share alike.

Item I give and devise unto my said son William Oldman, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns all and every my real estates, lands, hereditaments, and premises with the apputenances, situate and being in Thetford aforesaid as the same are now in the occupation of myself and my said son, to hold the same to him, the said William Oldman, his heirs and assigns forever to and for his own sole use and benefit.

Item from and after payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses the cahrges of the probate of this my will and the legacies hereby given and other incidental expenses attending the execution hereof I do hereby give and bequeath to my said son William Oldman all and every the rest, residue and remainder of my real and personal estates whatsoever and of what nature and kind soever the same may be to his own use and benefit.

Lastly I do hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time heretofore made, and declare this to be my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the twenty second day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty.
