Christmas at Mill Farm - a Christmas card painted for HM Customs by Perry Broad

Perry added this note

The tractor was a Fordson E 27 N, registered in WEST SUFFOLK, when we were a separate County & Bury St. Edmunds was the capital. The Fordson started on petrol, & when warm was run on Tractor Vapourising Oil(TVO), which was a refined version of paraffin. You had to drain the carburettor, & refill it with petrol before you tried to start from cold. No self starter, you swung the handle, & if the 19mm. spark plugs were oiled-up, you baked them in the kitchen oven!!!
